The Hero Initiative is the first-ever federally chartered not-for-profit corporation dedicated strictly to helping comic book creators in need. Hero creates a financial safety net for yesterdays’ creators who may need emergency medical aid, financial support for essentials of life, and an avenue back into paying work. It’s a chance for all of us to give back something to the people who have given us so much enjoyment.
Last month in Minneapolis I did a little Gerebus sketch and gave it to the folks at Hero Initiative.
It’s just a silly little sketch but it’s for a very worthwhile cause that needs your generous support.
They have it up on eBay (click on image):
Please bid lavishly.
We’re packin’ up the car and hittin’ the road for Philly…
…we’re at table A36…

Come on out to the show if you can.
It’s supposed to be a rainy weekend anyway… what else have you got to do?
Here is our table placement (A-41) for this weekend; right in the middle of things:

Hope to see some of you there!
It’s 4:15 a.m. and we’re off…
Just got back from the Toronto ComiCon.
It was a blast!
Thanks to everyone who made it such a great show.

That’s me staring in complete befuddlement at the computer screen just before making the executive decision to hand everything over to Shelley so I can get back to the drawing board.
Here’s Shel at our local library using their WiFi to slog through all of the necessary tutorials and to upload images while I spent the day scouring Google Images for reference for my next big commission:
Meanwhile, outside the huge picture window, was a veritable Cerebus background scene:
Stay tuned for more (hopefully) regular blog posts and for improvements to the site.
